Energy Healing works with the body’s energy systems to facilitate or enhance the body’s natural ability to heal. Trauma, stress, limiting or false belief systems, emotional or physical distress, and other blocks to our well-being, if not fully resolved, are often stored in the energy fields of our bodies. These blocks can hinder our ability to heal physically, mentally and emotionally and as a result prevent us from fully experiencing our divine potential: love, joy, peace, and abundance.

Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.

Mikao Usui developed reiki in the early 1900s, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Now, reiki is used all over the world, including in hospitals and hospices, to complement other forms of health treatments.

“Reiki aids in healing by helping people become energetically balanced — physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually,” Bodner says.

Science tells us that everything in this universe is made up of energy. Our energy points, energetic layers and subtle bodies create an interconnected field of energy around the physical body that is commonly known as the Auric field. Each subtle body connects into the physical body via an energy point or chakra, which directs the energy into the physical body via the meridian system. If something is blocked in the energy body, you may feel ill or you get a sense of feeling blocked in certain areas of your life.

Chakra’ translates literally to ‘wheel’, and is thought to be one of seven spinning centers of energy found in our body. Depending on the location, our Chakras, are connected to key endocrine glands and areas of our nervous system throughout the body, much like the Chinese meridians. The seven Chakras are located in alignment from the top of our head to the base of our spine. When functioning in synchronicity, they allow for a steady flow of energy throughout the body. Our Chakras tend to close when we experience negativity, sadness and anger. Chakra balancing helps to align your energies therefore you feel much lighter and brighter in your life.

The results of an energy healing session can be quite amazing! Aches and pains disappear, fears can melt away, and new positive behaviors are suddenly easy to implement and keep.
