With a brand new year right in front of us, it’s time to go out with the old and in with the new when it comes to our emotional wellness. Adopting better happiness habits right away can set up the rest of your year for more inner Zen.

1. Meditate More Often: 

Meditation has been proven to improve your immune system, lower blood pressure, help with binge eating and relieve stress. Sounds like the perfect way to accomplish two goals at once! Whether you’re in the office or at home, even 10 mins. meditation can do wonders. There are wonderful techniques that you can implement into the office environment during your break or lunchtime. 2. Practice More Optimism:

Adopting an optimistic outlook can have great impact on your overall physical and emotional well-being. Optimists have healthier hearts, regulate their emotions better and are at a lower risk for strokes. Have you tried positive affirmations? Try practicing daily affirmations for 21 days to see a difference in your outlook on life. If you have a hard time coming up with some examples, enter “best affirmations” in your google search.

3. Stay in the Present Moment:

Cultivating gratitude and staying present in the moment are both positive emotional wellness attributes. Grateful people tend to be happier and even exercise more than those who don’t express thanks on a daily basis. Staying off-line for a while, or drawing a boundary to your online exposure can help you stay more grounded and being present. Leave your phone behind when you share dinner with your loved ones.

4. Eat More Mindfully: 

Supplementing your diet with more vegetables doesn’t have to be boring. With many vegetarian and vegan options available now, you can make sure you consume your high vibration food. Especially during the winter, keeping your immunity is important, for example citrus fruits, broccoli, more garlic, and fresh herbs such as mint or ginger can keep your system more strong and balanced. Make sure to savour every bite and say your intentions before you start eating.

5. Slim down your Alcohol and Sweets Temptations:

Generally referred to as “alcohol,” ethanol is the substance that makes you drunk. Ethanol is produced by yeasts when they digest sugar in certain carb rich foods, such as grapes (wine) or grains (beer). When repeatedly consuming large amount of sugar in one way or another, this process can lead to fatty liver, high blood pressure, mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. Choosing other alternatives such as tea or an afternoon healthy snack will allow you to enjoy longevity.

6. Start your at-home Yoga Practice:

Practicing yoga has numerous health benefits — and you can start reaping them from the day you begin. Yogis have a lower risk of heart disease, improved brain function, lower blood pressure and increased flexibility (just to name a few). In case you’re not a Yoga fan, try stretching in the morning and evening for increased blood circulation. Or chose an exercise that fits the season, such as skiing or swimming. A nice hot sauna or steam-room after can help to detox your body even more.

7. Align your Energies with Chakra Balancing:

Do you feel drained in your energies? Whether it’s stress-related or you just want to improve your health and wellness, chakra balancing can help to clear any blocks in the energetic field. With renewed energies, your healing from emotional, physical, mental pain can be accelerated with repeated treatments. Taking time for yourself and self-care can extend your productivity and reach newer heights in your potential. You will feel like a million dollars after your chakra clearing, or almost like floating on clouds.

8. De-Clutter your Life:

Simplify your life by letting go of any clutter or old energies in your home and surrounding. Focus on what’s important, prioritize your tasks, and you’ll see there will be extra time for yourself in the calendar. Whether it is the people around you, or your to-do list, ensure they are aligned with your highest good. Toxic relationships can leave you drained, while people with high energies make you feel good. Living in a peaceful and serene space will allow you to feel more happy overall.

9. Use Essential Oils for Optimal Air: 

From ancient Egypt to modern times, essential oils have been used to treat anxiety, aches, and even aid digestion. Put on some soothing scents for your home or office to harness their healing powers. For example Lavender can be used for relaxing, Menthol for easy breathing, Lemon for freshness. The air quality can make a big difference in the way your feel during the day. Why not make it all natural and healing?

10. Boost the Feng Sui of your space with Healing Crystals:

The beauty and power of crystals and other stones have been long recognized, since the dawning of civilization – prized for not only their beauty but for their healing and spiritual power. Healers, shamans and priests have long used crystals for their unique and special properties. It is widely believed crystals vibrate at the same pitch as humans – such that the resonance between the stone and the human either combats the vibration of the illness or amplifies that of health. We begin 2018 with a full moon in the sign of Cancer reminding us of our home within. Our inner Mother awaits us, ready to bathe us in the nurturance of our inner waters. It is said that unity, community and awakening will lead 2018. We are encouraged to turn to our inner truth for answers and closing out the distractions from a busy world.

Compassion and love will prevail businesses and people will be more conscious about their decisions bringing the world closer to its inner truth. Numerology wise, 2018 adds up to 11 making it a special year with a leading number of 2, a dynamic ingredient to new projects and endevours. The possibilities are open and ripe, as long as we are aligned with our higher purpose and follow that with community awareness.
